the best of beauty

This shade of the Nars "Roman Holiday" lipstick is an old favouite of mine, that was recently reignited by a previous post, a One Teaspoon editorial, as in the shot below.

I am obsessed with this particular shade because it almost whitens the lips in a way that no other shade does. Although, it still brightens the face, or any look for that matter, in a refreshingly modern way. Chilly for winter and gives some colour for summer. Very versitile.

Here, I am wearing the closest thing I could find to it: BYS Lispstick [below].

But no doubt, I will be on the hunt for the true blue NARS Roman Holiday shade, because as you can see, this is crap. It just is. You can't even see it on me!

I need the real stuff, baby.

This deep tone of red has been on my love list for a while now, in particularly when I spotted this shot [below] of Lauren Conrad at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, in which this colour featured in her vibrant look. However, when searching for a nail polish in this colour, I came accross the CHANEL range of colours, and saw "Gondola," Le Vernis --it has a hint of sparkle to it, which just makes it more fun. Bottom line; it's something different. I've been wearing a bit too much black varnish lately....

I have been wearing the Estée Lauder MagnaScopic Maximum Volume Mascara since I recieved an Estée Lauder Beauty box for Christmas two years ago --icluding everything from brushes, to lipstick, to eyeliner, everything. When they mean maximum volume, they mean MAXIMUM VOLUME! I swear, my eye lashes are fairly long, but whenever the mascara goes on, you can actually see that. It's almost all I need for my eyes, it finishes off it all.

What are your favourite beauty products for this summer? I need to do some shopping for some new products, pronto. I've obviously got some things on my list already, but...
