can't buy me love

Today, whilst organising Christmas gifts with my dear mother, I discovered that she had been given a Rebecca Minkoff purse as a present from work, among  the other millions of jewellery, candles and the entire stocklist of Country Road she was given.
She, of course, had absoulutely never heard of the label, and was planning on "re-gifting" it to my aunt [whom, chances are, has never heard of it either]. However, when I immediately flipped when I saw the authentic, genuine leather purse, I used my talent of persuasion to her to let me have it... and she said, "I might as well give it to someone who will really appreciate it. I didn't know the brand was so cool."
Oh, mother; so fashion ignorant, but I love her anyway ;)
You can visit Minkoff's Fall 2010 Launch vid at rebeccaminkoff.com, including her latest creations of leathered beauty.

Also, whilst shopping this afternoon, mother bought me my first Christmas present, a completely incredible shot of the 'Empire State,' as above. The amazing photographer, Ben Tessler, specialises in panoramic landscapes, snapping various picturesque cityscapes and coastlines across the world, although he is mainly based in Western Australia. He's captured the likes of Perth, London, Amsterdam and, of course, Manhattan.
You can purchase any of his Australian or international shots here.
This baby is going rrrrright above my bed, to stare at until I can see the real deal.

I hope you are all enjoying your Christmas shopping and preperation, as Christmas eve is in just over a week, can you believe it! This is such a fun, and blissfully hot, time of year in Perth, and I hope, wherever you are, you surrounded my friends and family for the special holiday.

And, I can now say, that during Easter next year, I will be going to Melbourne for the first time! I am so unbelievably psyched for the shopping; including the millions of vintage stores, not to mention the main appeal, a Chanel boutique, that does not exist in Perth. I have some serious prioritizing and planning to do to get to all the places on my list
[yes I have a list] in about six days.... not to mention saving some money. But the main thing is, I'm actually going.

Happy festivities,
Xo
